How do tokens and points work?
Along with any venue specific prizes, Top Finishers are awarded Tokens & Points which are used for both Bar Poker Open (BPO) and DeepStacks Poker League (DPL) promotions.
Tokens
The Top 3 Finishers at every DPL game earn BPO tokens. Every Sunday, BPO hosts a weekly world championship qualifier on barpokeropen.com. To play the world championship qualifier, players must have a token to redeem for entry. Re-buys are also allowed and also cost a token. Roughly the Top 2% of the field wins a seat into a BPO World Championship. Each week, the winner of the world championship qualifier wins a Full Vegas Package which consists of a seat in the world championship, 5 nights hotel accommodations, and up to $400 travel reimbursement.
Tokens are also used for other special events on barpokeropen.com and for PRO, which is BPO’s online subscription club.
Points
The Top 20% of finishers at every DPL tournament earn points which are used to rank players on leaderboards which are then used for various promotions by both DPL and BPO.
BPO Super League
Every league affiliate of the BPO has a Super League. At the end of each championship season, the BPO will host the Super League Championship which awards Full Vegas Packages and seats to the next BPO World Championship. Super League leaderboards have qualification tiers that provide players with additional benefits. Depending on a player’s ranking in their Super League, even if a player does not win a seat in the BPO World Championship, he/she can earn an invite to the World Championship at their own expense.
DPL Leaderboard Based Promotions
DeepStacks Season Championship – seasonal promotion that culminates with a by invite only tournament for cash and prizes. To qualify, players must be ranked in the Top 50 on the league combined leaderboard (all venues), Top 10 (venue hosting 2 nights per week), or Top 5 (venues hosting 1 night per week).
Vegas Or Bust – is a DPL promotion that awards seats into the BPO World Championship. In addition it also awards a Full Vegas Package, and some prize money for the top finishers. To qualify for Vegas Or Bust, players must simply earn points at any regular DPL nightly game during the monthly qualification period.
DeepStacks Winners Challenge, Brick & Mortar, etc. – from time to time, DPL will run any number of additional promotions. Some of these promotions will simply need to make points at a DPL nightly game. While others may be based on a leaderboard / ranking system.
